Ready Made Bulletin Boards

READY MADE BULLETIN BOARDS

Honestly now, what is better then a ready made bulletin board? Safe Zone is making the following ready made boards available to Residence Life student staff. Some of these may look familiar as they were adapted from various RA resources while others are SLU originals. Start with what we give you, then get creative!

While there are many possible GLBT themed boards possible these tend to be more educational and geared toward the Safe Zone mission. We ask that you also use the Safe Zone logo included with the downloads.

Look for more selections to be added in the future.

Hate Crimes

The average student hears 25 anti-gay statements a day in school.  69% of GLBT students feel unsafe in their school because of their sexual orientation.  This board includes those and many other GLBT hate crime statistics.

Laramie Project

Most students will remember, or at least know of, Matthew Shepard.  Matthew was a 21 year old college student killed in 1998 for being gay.  Timeline, pictures and recommended movie/reading included.

So you think you can spot one?

A small selection of famous and not so famous gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.  A reminder that thinking you can spot a GLBT person is both homophobic and heterosexist. All you have to do is cut them out and hang them up!

If the world were 100 people

Ever wonder what the world would look like if it were just 100 people?  We provide the 100 little people, all you have to do is decorate.

HIV / AIDS

College age youth have one of the fastest growing rates of infections in the United States.  The Centers for Disease Control estimates that one out of every two hundred college students is HIV positive.  US and worldwide HIV/AIDS figures to remind us that AIDS is a very real problem even on the college campus.
