SAFE ZONE TRAINING

Safe Zone members are required to attend one of the 3 hour training sessions held throughout the year.

Trainings are usually held after class hours or on weekends to accommodate student schedules.  Groups are usually limited to 20 students on a first come first serve basis.

Based off the resource manual, training is focused on group discussions and activities.  Everybody has had different experiences and knows different things, we want you to be able to share your knowledge.  Plenty of time is available to ask questions and talk about issues you would like to address.

We have worked very hard to make the Safe Zone program at Saint Louis University the best possible and unique for our school's needs.  We have researched other programs from across the country to cover a complete range of topics.  Check the links on this page to see who helped us in developing our program and exactly what is included.

STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS
Safe Zone welcomes and encourages other student organizations to participate in training as a group.  We request that CSO executive board members contact Safe Zone to arrange a special training outside of those open to the general student body.  For larger organizations, it is possible to schedule more than one session to accommodate all of your interested members while still providing an intimate and quality training.  Remember, Safe Zone training is voluntary and it's okay if all your members don't want to participate.

DEPARTMENTS AND OFFICES
Safe Zone hopes to eventually make training sessions available to departments and offices.  Because we are a new program, general student body, student organization and student staff scheduling is priority.  Critical areas of student services will be invited to initial private trainings.
